There’s a lot of speculation these days about where our civic information will come from in the future. Whether you talk to the local newspaper editor or the TV news anchor or the radio news reporter, you’ll hear the same concern. Revenues aren’t what they used to be. You’ll hear concerns about the sustainability of the current model.
Facts only become information when they reach the public. A community that wants to step confidently into the future needs to deliver the facts to the citizens. If the commercial model falters, we need to do it for ourselves.
